TESOL Training without leaving China!


The English Teacher Training Project in Tianjin will offer TESOL courses three times in 2012 for those interested in teaching English in China:

January 16-20, February 6-17 (3-week intensive)

April  17-June 23 (10-week non-intensive)

July 16-August 4 (3-week intensive)

Summer English School… in Qinghai!


In response to a request from the director of the International Department in the Chinese secondary school where she teaches English listening and speaking skills, Nettie Zekveld (CAN) recruited six teachers from North America and one from the Netherlands for a summer school held in July.

JHF Summer English Camp in Wuming, Guangxi


For the eighth consecutive year, students in Wuming, a small city just north of Nanning, improved their English skills, made new friends and learned more about other cultures. All this happened through the exciting activities – both inside and outside of the classroom – of the 2011 Summer English Camp.

Learning to Bake at Bach’s Bakery


On 27 July, seven eager students learned to bake muffins during the first evening baking class at Bach’s Bakery in Changsha. With the long-term goal of providing vocational training for hearing-impaired young adults, Bach’s Bakery opened its doors last year and began selling delicious German-style baked goods. This summer baking classes for the general public are being offered as well as a training program for a hearing-impaired intern.
