JHF Annual Conference 2010
Re-connect, refresh and relax - the main components of the annual gathering of associates and friends of Jian Hua Foundation - were all evident at the recent Jian Hua Foundation Annual Conference held in Tin Shui Wai, Hong Kong. JHF associates and friends of JHF alike look forward each year to the Annual Conference held during the Spring Festival break. This year we were honoured to have Peter Anderson with us as the main speaker. Because of his long association with JHF, having served as the International Director of JHF from 1992 to 2005 and now serving with the board of the Jian Hua Foundation (NZ) Trust, his messages each day were filled with encouragement and illustrations out of his rich and varied China experience.
Seminars were offered each day on a variety of topics pertinent to the lives and work of associates. One afternoon a very special event for all the ladies took place at the invitation of board chairman Prof Patrick Cheng and his wife Loretta. A lovely tea was served with associates Raewyn Chirnside and Lina Lentsch adding a personal touch to the afternoon.
At the same time, the JHF kids were having a wonderful time meeting up once again with friends from all over China. We were blessed to have a team of eleven from the Philadelphia area of the US come to provide a fun and meaningful program for nearly fifty children aged eight months to late teens. We are grateful for their ingenuity, flexibility and good humour.
We are already looking forward to the 2011 Annual Conference which will be held in Chiangmai, Thailand next February!
