

Students, teachers and parents of the Tianjin Special Education Program’s Autistic Classroom welcomed summer with an exciting trip to the Beijing Aquarium and zoo!


JHF’s new English Teacher Training Project completed its third TESOL course in July in Tianjin. Four hard-working trainees finished the course, which ran from 5-24 July, 2010. The next course, a 10-week part-time version, is set to begin 7 September.

These are some of the questions that were asked just half-way through the first day of a three-day Physical Therapy and Special Education Training that took place this month in Taiyuan, Shanxi.


As a prelude to World Autism Awareness Day on 2 April, the Tianjin Special Education Program held a “Love Autistic Children Charity Party” with the help of a local international school. They followed this event with an eight day photo and video exhibition held at the Sheraton Hotel to help raise public awareness for children with autism.


As part of the new English Teacher Training Project, JHF’s first TESOL course was held from 18 January – 5 February 2010, at the Tianjin representative office. The course is certified by International Training Network, Christchurch, UK, and taught by Carol Woodford.


Re-connect, refresh and relax - the main components of the annual gathering of associates and friends of Jian Hua Foundation - were all evident at the recent Jian Hua Foundation Annual Conference held in Tin Shui Wai, Hong Kong.


Mike and Pam Collier, teachers in Shandong University of Science and Technology, are making significant contributions in the areas of Engineering and English. Mike has co-authored two books with his university colleagues, the second just published this summer. Both Mike and Pam have received teaching excellence awards from Shandong province. All while enjoying a high level of interest and support from students and staff at the institution.
