The Jian Hua Foundation (NZ) Trust is a registered charity in New Zealand. The main function of the JHF (NZ) Trust is to support those sent out from New Zealand to serve in China with JHF and to raise the profile of the organization in New Zealand. In response to the devastating earthquake in Sichuan on 12 May, we are actively engaged in raising funds for earthquake relief.

The Board of Trustees consists of:
Peter Anderson (Chairman and chief contact person) and his wife Elizabeth come from Zimbabwe and New Zealand respectively. Peter is a former staff member in Hong Kong and is JHF's Representative at Large. Peter is a visiting lecturer at Carey Baptist College. Elizabeth teaches part-time in the Education Faculty at the University of Auckland.
Fun Sang (Daniel) Choi (Treasurer) is a Senior Lecturer in Finance at the University of Waikato. He and his wife Josephine, a teacher aide at a special school, came from Hong Kong, settling in Hamilton in 1998.
Derek Christensen recently retired from the full-time staff of Carey Baptist College in Auckland but still supervises their centre for inter-cultural studies. He is a specialist in cross-cultural and marketplace studies.
Theodore Lee recently obtained his PhD at the University of Waikato in Hamilton. Before moving to New Zealand he had been a secondary school teacher in Hong Kong for 10 years.
Jenny McDowall, along with her husband Bruce and their four children, has recently returned to NZ to settle after 11 years with JHF, working in a Tibetan area of China. She lives in Hamilton and has a great desire to encourage and equip others to serve overseas. Bruce is back in his field of engineering.
Peter Mihaere is the Managing Director of Marketplacers International Limited, with business interests in a number of Asian countries. Based in Auckland, he has had extensive corporate experience working in senior roles with New Zealand Insurance, Clear Communications and Teletech, as well as consultancy roles with workplace survey and analysis company John Robertson & Associates.
Barbara Walker, our newest Board member, is a leader in JHF partner organisation NZCMS. She is their North Island Representative and is active in recruiting professionals for service all over the world.
Nora Yao is the head tutor of Chinese at the University of Auckland. She and her husband came to New Zealand from Shanghai over 20 years ago. Her speciality is the pedagogy of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
Joan Young served in Asia for 15 years. The first two years were spent in Hong Kong with St Stephen's Society working with drug addicts and street sleepers, and the following 13 years were spent with JHF teaching English in China and volunteering at an orphanage. Joan has now retired to Taupo, central North Island.
One other important JHF personality with strong Kiwi links is Doug Plummer, JHF International Ambassador and Associate Relationships. Doug lived in NZ for many years before beginning his service in Asia. His wife Ruth is a Kiwi and qualified as a medical doctor in New Zealand.
The Trustees of the JHF (NZ) Trust meet three or four times a year and occasionally hold public meetings or events.
